Introduction

I started this blog to keep family and friends informed about my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. David, Sappha, Finn, and I have experienced such an outpouring of support since last week, and it makes us feel stronger, braver, and more optimistic to know that we are so loved. Thank you to everyone who has called, written, emailed, or sent flowers, food, books, and other goodies. I'd say that we have enough chocolate now to last a lifetime, but I know it will barely last the weekend!

The name of my new blog is Journey - BCE, with BCE standing for "Breast Cancer Era." Some of you may recall that as a fourth grade spelling bee finalist, I stumbled on the word "journey" - let us hope that I will be more successful this time around! I hope that, through a potent combination of willpower, love, and medical expertise (!), I will eventually be able to change the title to Journey BBC - Beyond Breast Cancer. (Or ABC - After Breast Cancer, or...I'm open to suggestions!)
